SUGARCANE

Sugarcane is grown on 290 hectares and is 100% mechanised. We have an even split of early to late maturing varieties in order to mitigate climate risks and allocate irrigation supply appropriately. All the sugar produced by Bel Air Agricultural is sold through the Mauritian Sugar Syndicate. We produce 2,000 tons of sugar annually, with an average of 8.1 tons of sugar produced per hectare.
